“What we are” is an abstract concept.
On a divine level, we are complete — everything exists within us.
But as consciousness descends and our personality and incarnation take form, this is no longer the case.
Here we are deeply influenced by many factors: our lineage, the egregores around us, and even the people we interact with daily.
For example, I used to love going to restaurants with friends because I truly don’t enjoy cooking. But at some point I became more sensitive and realized that when people eat — whether outside or within their family — the subconscious is much more open and receptive. In that state, we can absorb beliefs from the environment and from the people around us.
Now I almost always eat only with people very close to me, and only those with whom I have harmonious relationships. If I’m with someone with whom there is tension or unresolved issues, I only drink water.
That’s how deeply our environment influences our decisions, emotions, and thoughts.
So how can we take greater ownership of our lives?
Through directing our attention and doing conscious inner work.
Our mornings should begin with clear intentions for the day — what we want to experience and create. We need to continuously plan our lives, write down what we desire, and clarify our direction. By doing so, we activate the realities and patterns that lead us toward what we want.
You can imagine that throughout the day — throughout life — we have a control panel with 100 buttons in front of us, and we are required to press some of them. Each choice leads to a different reality. If we refuse to choose and avoid taking responsibility, random buttons will be pressed for us — and the results may not be what we like.
