i think its more for clearing but the dm can work as protection as well see if someone sends you something they will get it back

Both. I meditated with this with the intention of removing what was inside. I had horrible dreams for the whole night, dealing with some nasty stuff. It integrated with all of my shields smoothly. I asked my HS to make it as a first layer. I really like the idea that it will return to the sender. You cooked the spell; now eat it, bon appetite! 
After sleeping with this last night, I can contest to the strange dreams. Yikes, lol
Should I purchase the DM ‘Return to Sender Magic, Spells, Curses, Negative Energy’ if I already own ‘DM In Your Favor’? I’m now thinking that ‘DM In Your Favor’ might have the same or even extended effects.

They are different,
In my opinion with the DM Favor you benefits for the attacks against you but with this you return those attacks to you
You could use both or alternate the use if maybe you are overwhelm with DM Favor (which is a way more complete than this DM)
“In Your Favour” will not send the dark energy back to the sender as our new mandala does. I combined them both with cheeky pleasure. Some beings will test your shield and attack you over and over again. Once they test their own poison, it will be more likely for them to leave you alone (they have to deal with their own stuff).

This is really helping me, today I found it.
I stopped the DM Favor because I was a little overwelhmed, I was experimenting other fields, but I really learn the importance of protection this year, as important as the health or mental ones.
I was better mentally in the last weeks, working with some DMS but in the last two days I was under great stress in the job and barely sleep, four hours and another stress for a neighbor too, so I was feeling bad today tired and stressful and I think that crashed my aura, that crossed fast in mind today (I read it in the restore bodies description which I purchased)
I tell this because after using this I felt a lot of better
Probably this stopped the flow of attacks on me.
Also I just activated the restore bodies mandala.
Yes, it should last up to 24 hours.

I had some problems at night.
I though they were attacks but they were panic attacks, just when I tried to sleep, three times in a row sort of I felt like I was going to die from a heart attack but I could control them at the end.
