DM: Heart Sutra (Patreon Exclusive)

This field contains the energetic knowledge and understanding of the Heart Sutra. By using it you will receive the full understanding of one of the most important teaching of Buddhism.

The Heart Sūtra, Tibetan: བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་མ་ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱི་ཕ་རོལ་ཏུ་ཕྱིན་པའི་སྙིང་པོ is a popular sutra in Mahāyāna Buddhism. In Sanskrit, the title Prajñāpāramitāhṛdaya translates as “The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom”.

In the sutra, Avalokiteśvara addresses Śariputra, explaining the fundamental emptiness (śūnyatā) of all phenomena, known through and as the five aggregates of human existence (skandhas): form (rūpa), feeling (vedanā), volitions (saṅkhāra), perceptions (saṃjñā), and consciousness (vijñāna). Avalokiteśvara famously states, “Form is Emptiness (śūnyatā). Emptiness is Form”, and declares the other skandhas to be equally empty—that is, dependently originated.

Avalokiteśvara then goes through some of the most fundamental Buddhist teachings such as the Four Noble Truths, and explains that in emptiness none of these notions apply. This is interpreted according to the two truths doctrine as saying that teachings, while accurate descriptions of conventional truth, are mere statements about reality—they are not reality itself—and that they are therefore not applicable to the ultimate truth that is by definition beyond mental understanding. Thus the bodhisattva, as the archetypal Mahayana Buddhist, relies on the perfection of wisdom, defined in the Mahāprajñāpāramitā Sūtra to be the wisdom that perceives reality directly without conceptual attachment, thereby achieving nirvana.

The sutra concludes with the mantra gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā, meaning “gone, gone, everyone gone to the other shore, awakening, svaha.”

The Heart Sutra

as recited in the Triratna Buddhist Community

The Bodhisattva of Compassion,

When he meditated deeply,

Saw the emptiness of all five skandhas

And sundered the bonds that caused him suffering.

Here then, Form is no other than emptiness,

Emptiness no other than form.

Form is only emptiness,

Emptiness only form.

Feeling, thought, and choice,

Consciousness itself,

Are the same as this.

All things are by nature void

They are not born or destroyed

Nor are they stained or pure

Nor do they wax or wane

So, in emptiness, no form,

No feeling, thought, or choice,

Nor is there consciousness.

No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind;

No colour, sound, smell, taste, touch,

Or what the mind takes hold of,

Nor even act of sensing.

No ignorance or end of it,

Nor all that comes of ignorance;

No withering, no death,

No end of them.

Nor is there pain, or cause of pain,

Or cease in pain,

or noble path To lead from pain;

Not even wisdom to attain!

Attainment too is emptiness.

So know that the Bodhisattva Holding to nothing whatever,

But dwelling in Prajna wisdom,

Is freed of delusive hindrance,

Rid of the fear bred by it,

And reaches clearest Nirvana.

All Buddhas of past and present,

Buddhas of future time,

Using this Prajna wisdom,

Come to full and perfect vision.

Hear then the great dharani,

The radiant peerless mantra,

The Prajnaparamita Whose words allay all pain;

Hear and believe its truth!

We couldn’t obtain the copyrights for them from the artists who have licensed and are singing the mantras, so they won’t be able to be made into audio.

@Maitreya
Thank you for your reply. I cannot believe someone will license dharma(universal and free for everyone, as long as you know it exists) for his/her copyright and own benefits.

In this case, I will try my best to try to connect to the field by intuition.

Thank you for your reply!

Energy cannot be licensed, but its material execution can. Someone has made an effort for this thing to exist as a mantra/song or another work, and they are entitled to compensation for it. In our case, we pay for the music we use and other things, but sometimes some authors do not agree to sell their rights, and accordingly, we do not have the right to use it. :slight_smile:

Thank you. I understand what you mean. You are saying someone used heart sutra and composed it with music as a song. That person can claim a copyright on that media and any audio material related with the title of heart sutra?

Well, doesn’t matter. I will just try hard to feel the DM. This forced me to learn how to be actively communicate with the track.

Thank you!
