Will this make the hair go through the full hair growth phases i.e will the old / weak hair go through the shedding phase first and then new hair will grow? OR will it just make new hair grow on the scalp?
Secondly, I had a hair transplant around 13 years ago which was not successful and lots of hair fell out. Will new hair grow in those areas also ?

You are all too worried about going bald. There are so many bald men who are handsome and sexy. Would Dwaye Johnson or Bruce Willis be more successful if she had perm or long hair? I do not think so.
Also, the more you worry about it, the more difficult it becomes to be successful in the field. What you think gets your reality. So please everyone remains optimistic and the field will do what it does.

Physical changes are most slow to notice so idk exactly but in 1-3 weeks should have visible results
Oh, I have no problem with hair growth. 
You could easily make 4-5 short hair wigs for men out of my hair. I would rather want a field to get rid of all the unwanted body hair. And I guess I’m not the only person who could use that.
Everyone has different thing to heal or make better. I want hair on my head and you want your body hair gone.
