Astral Projection Advice

Hello Forum Family,

I hope you are all well. 6 or 7 years ago I started researching Astral Projection. I read all the literature, listened to every YouTuber and never achieved it. I did however become a very good lucid dreamer at the time.

A few months ago I got back into it, knowing that I had advanced a lot energetically and spiritually. Still no success. I am not following any particular method, though I sometimes meditate to the AP field from Patreon.

Any insight, field recommendation or advice for regular practice is very welcome. Please tell me as much as you know. Thank you very much

With some help from Perplexity, here are a few techniques.

Head‑lift micro‑awakening: Upon a natural or planned micro‑awakening late in the night, keep eyes closed, stay completely still, and very slowly intend to lift only the head as if it were weightless; projectors report that an “astral head” continues rising while the physical head stays put, often followed by a full separation or forward fall out of the body.

WBTB classic: Sleep 4–6 hours, wake up briefly, read/visualize about OBEs for 10–30 minutes, then return to bed using an exit method (rope, roll‑out, ladder, etc.) as you re‑enter REM; this leverages long, vivid REM cycles with higher awareness.

Vibrational induction: Deep relaxation plus focused attention on imagined or spontaneous “vibrations,” then mentally sweeping these up and down the body until they become strong and even, after which you use an exit such as rolling, floating, or climbing.

Monroe‑style techniques

Energy‑vibration waves: Relax until hypnagogic imagery starts, then focus on a point above the head and “pull in” subtle vibrations, spreading them through the body in waves from head to feet until you can start and stop them at will; when stable, think only of gently floating up or rolling out.

Partial‑limb separation: Once in vibrations, imagine extending a non‑physical arm or leg out of the physical one and touching a spot in the room; when this feels solid, commit to a full roll‑out or upward float.

Rotation technique: In the vibrational state, imagine slowly turning over in bed without moving physically, letting the imagined rotation “catch” and flip you out beside the body.

Visualization and movement methods

Rope technique: Imagine a rope hanging above your chest and use only imagined hands to climb hand‑over‑hand; keep the body limp, focusing on the strain in the non‑physical arms until a distinct shift, pop, or drift upward occurs.Ladder or stair descent: Visualize descending a very long ladder or staircase into darkness as the body falls asleep, maintaining awareness by counting steps; at a certain depth, switch to an exit cue like jumping off or floating away.

Target‑location method: Before sleep, pick a nearby “target” (corner of the room, another room); in the liminal state, repeatedly imagine being there and observing small details, then “snap” attention to that location as if teleporting.

Audio, energy, and timing aids-Binaural beats and theta tracks: Use low‑frequency theta binaural beats or specially designed astral‑projection audio to stabilize the mind‑awake/body‑asleep state and deepen the vibrational stage before using an exit method.

Breath and body‑scan induction: Combine slow breathing, systematic muscle relaxation, and a body‑scan while lying still; once heavy and numb, shift from focusing on the body to imagined movement or energy circuits around it to detach awareness from physical sensations.

Custom timing routines: Many practitioners adjust WBTB windows, nap timing, or alarm‑based micro‑awakenings so that head‑lift, rope, or rotation attempts happen in the first 30 seconds of a groggy awakening, when REM paralysis and vivid imagery are strongest.

Putting it together

Combine: For example, use WBTB to wake after 5 hours, a 10‑minute meditation and body‑scan, then theta audio plus the rope or head‑lift method as you drift back into sleep.

Iterate: Keep a short log of timing, technique, sensations (vibrations, hypnagogia), and results so you can tune which combination of head‑lift, vibrational work, and visualization gives you the most consistent exits over time.

And Maitreya’s audio of course.

Good luck and happy travels.

I did it twice.

I have noticed a pattern, but idk if it works for everyone.

I go to bed and put on a special track, that brings my Frequency down to theta/delta. There are many of these Audios on youtube.

Then I do a simple breath meditation while lying down and wait for my body to become very relaxed. This might take up to an hour. Then, if I am still awake, I remove my headphones and turn over to my left side and just try to sleep normally.

Then after a while my Body starts to fill up with strong vibrational Energy automatically without any effort or intention.
I let the Energy „consume“ me. I used to be scared of it, because it was so strong and it felt like something is posessing me.

But now I just let it do its thing. The Energy builds up stronger and stronger each moment until it reaches my head. When it encompasses my head, my body starts coming out. I don‘t have to do anything, it just happens.

I will practice it until it happens everytime I try. I can feel the Energy everytime, but sometimes I get impatient with the Audio and stop it too soon. My Frequency isn‘t at theta pr delta then ans that‘s why it doesn‘t work.

I don‘t know about food beforehand. The do‘s and don‘ts but overall this method will work for sure if I put time and dedication into it. And since you are good in meditation it should be a Breeze for you :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes::grin:

Most people try to do this at night, and it does become possible over time, but for a beginner it’s very difficult, because the brain doesn’t yet have those trained neural connections and you simply fall asleep in the usual way.

For it to become a proper training, consistency is required for several months — at least 2–3 months, every day.

Around midday, about 2–3 p.m., you lie down (or at a time when you’re not tired). Those 2 hours are the golden window. You go into meditation — it works best with monotonous music.

You don’t try to fall asleep; on the contrary, you focus on listening to the music, the tones. It helps a lot to have good headphones and music that literally “massages” different areas of the brain (I think 8D audio works well for this right now, but for some people more meditative music may be better).

During this time, you consciously observe how the music creates sensations in your head.

After 5–6 sessions of this exercise, it’s very likely that you’ll enter lucid dreaming directly, which is not the same as a standard dream.

In lucid dreaming, you feel as if you are slightly outside your body — you are aware of the room and what’s happening in it, but at the same time you can travel to different places you’re interested in, and this happens through your intention.

Thank you! Should I just listen to the AP field? Count while I am meditating to occupy the monkey mind?

I am also wondering if any other fields could help me (for instance the ones that are for specific brainwaves).
