Spiritual ego can be very sneaky. One minute we’re talking about love and unity, and the next we’re secretly thinking, “I’m more conscious than these people.” It happens to almost everyone at some point. Instead of pretending it doesn’t exist, let’s talk about the moments we’ve noticed it in ourselves and how we deal with it.
Have you ever caught yourself feeling spiritually “above” someone? What triggered it?
What helps you come back to humility and compassion when that mindset appears?
How do you balance confidence in your growth with not falling into superiority?
Oh, spiritual ego-I know it very well.
I even remember when it first started showing up, and I came to one very clear conclusion that it was indeed that.
It was most active in me at the very moment I noticed this spiritual ego in other people.
Others would write or talk about something, and I could just see their pride. And it was definitely there in them, but I could only see it because it was also in me - people were simply mirroring my own pride back to me.
Once I worked through these aspects (it took some time), I stopped paying attention to the “spirituality” of others.
Or rather, I stopped seeing it in people around me. To be precise, I stopped perceiving other people’s spiritual statements through the lens of pride.
So the conclusion is:
If you notice someone else’s pride, especially if it really bothers or triggers you ,know that spiritual pride is actually in you.
If you’re no longer triggered by the spiritual pride in others, it means you’ve worked through it in yourself.
