“Karma” is a word people use in many different ways. For some, it’s a cosmic punishment/reward system. For others, it’s just neutral energy returning to us, or simply the natural consequences of our actions over time. How we see karma can deeply affect how we view our lives and other people’s lives.
- What is your current understanding of karma in your own words?
- Has your view on karma changed over the years? If yes, how?
- Does your belief about karma bring you peace, guilt, motivation… something else?

To the best of my understanding karma is memory in action. Like a program running that is made of all our thoughts, actions and past decisions.
Whether we do good and be unrewarded or bad and get away with it, we realise that nothing in this life is truly thus. We carry it all with us.
Really it’s a wonderful thing because doing good is not just an act of love but of self love also.

I understand Karma as will in motion. Directed will is a result of Vasanas (loosely, desires). Vasanas arises from Samskara (imprints from interactions).
I have grown neutral towards Karma, what is already set in motion will play out. My way to minimize any adverse impact, if I recognize the stream beforehand is to shift in awareness so that impact is minimal. For Karma that is yet to play out in full force, shifting awareness-burning Samskaras prevents it from coming to full fruition and any residue is handled appropriately and not reinforced through Vasanas.
With this perspective, I just focus on clearing Samskaras, letting go of ownership of Karma to prevent reinforcement of anything I wish to not hold and creating better Vasanas that are more suited and provides an easier way to evolve.

In theory is a corrective system but I don’t think all interactions we receive are due to karma, in fact we interact with diferent peeple and we recieve influence from the external world in a lot of ways, I think in some cases we could talk also of groupal Karma, for example for actions we receive in a country.
Also not every action we receive is because we did the same, so if one get robbed not necessarely is due to the fact one robbed somebody else.
So other actions we received could be classified as bad/good luck or even maybe we had something happening which clasified as good or bad and just happened due to different circumstances.

My interpretation of it as of now, is that it’s simply another System to keep Souls Souls entrapped on the wheel.
When we feel like we have more Stuff to do, or more things we have to learn, we come back willingly or in some cases unwillingly, by being manipulated.
Never forget that every system that operates on guilt, cannot be Will of Source!
I don’t know if there really is an energetic structure in our lives by the NAme of Karma. If there is one, then it is our own Manifestation! Probably before incarnating, we were fooled into taking on “Karma” and making the dissolving of it our mission to “learn and grow”.
But in reality it just keeps us stuck. I think with enough internal work, Karma can be fully overcome and of course with Maitreyas Fields

I think that the understanding in new age circles or many in the Western audience, is that Karma is something negative which is not the case if I am to think in terms of the Sanatan traditions.
If I jump from the terrace and get hurt as I hit the ground that’s consequences of an action, not negative Karma.
Many people might interpret or handle Karma differently, but in the systems the name is derived from, it is not a guilt inducing mechanism.
